EQT Corporation has announced it has commissioned a second drilling rig powered by clean burning natural gas. This second rig uses gas from on-site production to lower fuel costs and reduce truck traffic related to diesel deliveries, which in turn lessens the overall environmental footprint.

Brazil is one of the world’s largest oil producers, and its national oil company Petrobras has plans for $224 billion in capital expenditures from 2011 to 2015. To support Petrobras’ initiatives for pre-salt drilling, GE’s Power Conversion business has announced it has been selected by Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, a leading designer and builder of high-performance mobile offshore rigs, to supply the electrical power generation, thruster and drilling drive technology for six new semisubmersible drilling rigs for Brazil.

STEP Energy Services has announced, effective Sept. 14, the acquisition of Kamber Nitrogen Services is complete. Kamber is a privately owned coiled tubing and nitrogen pumping company based in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Kamber's main assets consist of two deep capacity conventional coiled tubing units, two twin-fluid pumping units, five nitrogen pumping units and ancillary support equipment.
