New Ensco Advanced-Capability Drillship Order Driven By Deepwater Market Strength

LONDON, U.K. -- Ensco plc has ordered an additional advanced-capability DP3 ultra-deepwater drillship based on the Samsung GF12000 hull design. The vessel, ENSCO DS-10, will be the eighth Samsung DP3 drillship in the Ensco fleet, further extending the benefits of Ensco’s fleet standardization strategy.

Marine Well Containment Company Announces Availability Of New Deepwater Capping Stack

HOUSTON, Tex. -- Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) has announced the availability of a 10k psi capping stack for use in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Statoil Announces New Rigs To Extend Field Life Of Oseberg And Gullfaks

The licence partners of Gullfaks and Oseberg Area Unit have acquired two new category J jack-up rigs. The rigs will be owned by the licenses and will contribute to increased recovery and extended field life. Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. and operator KCA Deutag Drilling Norway AS have been awarded the contracts for construction and operation of two category J rigs, with operation start expected in 2016-2017.
